HC Deb 12 February 1953 vol 511 cc63-4W
Mr. Awbery

asked the Minister of Health if the young man, details of whose case have been sent to him, was a certified mental case; if he is aware that this man was called up while on licence from the Bristol Mental Colony and served four weeks' satisfactory service, being reclaimed two days before he was due to pass out from his training centre; and if he will examine this case, with a view to discharging him from the colony.

Mr. Iain Macleod

The answer to the first part of the Question is in the affirmative. I am aware that he served about four weeks' military service. I am informed that it would not be in his best interests to discharge him at the present time from the order and that the possibility of licensing him again to the care of his family is under consideration.
