§ 4. Mr. Shepherdasked the President of the Board of Trade what arrangements the continuing body has made regarding members of the staff of the Clothing Development Council.

ThorneycroftI understand that on 4th February, in accordance with a notification made on their behalf shortly before Christmas, the new Joint Clothing Council offered employment up to the end of March, 1953, at their previous salaries to all the staff of the Clothing Industry Development Council available to receive the offer. I understand also that the new council have indicated that they hope to be able to offer permanent employment to the majority of the stall
