§ 94. Sir W. Wakefieldasked the Assistant Postmaster-General what progress has been made with schemes for the centralised control of telephone calls for taxicabs, which he has recently been considering.
§ Mr. GammansThe proposal was that a central control for calls to taxicabs should be established, the control to be operated by the Post Office, and obtained by dialling "TAX." It is not possible for the Post Office to agree to the exclusive use of a dialling code for this purpose, or to undertake the operation of the control, and the sponsor of the scheme has been so advised.
