§ 80. Mr. J. Johnsonasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he will give the detailed expenditure on 36W European, Asian and African education in Kenya from the development funds since 1945; and if he will indicate how many European, Asian and African children of school age have benefited from this expenditure.
§ Mr. LytteltonAs details of the expenditure required in the first part of the Question are long, I have placed in the Library a copy of the 1953 Estimates of the Development and Reconstruction Authority; the information is on pages 25-27.
Detailed information in the form sought in the second part of the Question may not be readily available, even in Kenya. I am, however, asking the Governor whether it can be conveniently supplied and will write to the hon. Member when I have his reply.
