§ Mr. J. P. L. ThomasThe invitation to the Merchant Navy to take part in the Naval Review was conveyed through the General Council of Shipping. Details will shortly be discussed with representatives of the Council.
As far as possible the ships will be berthed in one or other of the lines in which the Fleet is drawn up. An anchorage is being set aside for private yachts, probably in the vicinity of the Ryde Middle Bank and application forms for berths have been distributed to secretaries of yacht clubs throughout the United Kingdom.
Completed application forms should be sent to the Commander-in-Chief, Portsmouth, by 1st March, 1953.
