HC Deb 11 February 1953 vol 511 cc47-8W
Mr. C. I. Orr-Ewing

asked the Minister of Works whether he can now make a statement about licences for rebuilding Central London.

Mr. Eccles

Yes. The Government have decided that licences may be granted for a number of projects to a total value of £10 million in Central London. Most of the schemes selected are those which will bring benefit to the balance of pay- ments and the majority of the buildings will be in the City. Many of the schemes will provide employment for stonemasons.
