§ Miss HorsbrughI am unable to modify the decision to which my hon. Friend refers. A limited programme of improvements to such schools is, however, being carried out by local education authorities within the investment allocation which I make to them for minor works.
Mr. Wileyasked the Minister of Education the number of new schools to be commenced in the County Borough of 235W Sunderland during the year 1953–54: and their location and accommodation.
§ Miss HorsbrughThe authority's building programme for 1953–54 consists of two county infants schools, one for 360 pupils at Red House, Hylton, the other for 240 pupils at Castletown.
