HC Deb 05 February 1953 vol 510 cc220-1W
48. Mr. Teeling

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what sums are at present held by the Custodian of Enemy Property on Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian account; to what extent any sums have been distributed from these assets in recent years; and to whom.

Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

The assets at present held by or reported to the Custodian of Enemy Property on Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian account are estimated at about £2½ million, £3¼ million and £1½ million respectively. Apart from certain small sums which were incorrectly reported, or were released to their owners who had left the Baltic States, no distribution has been made from these assets.
