HC Deb 05 February 1953 vol 510 c227W
71. Mr. Gough

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he is aware of an article, a copy of which has been sent to him, which appeared on page 8 of the "Sunday Pictorial," of 14th December, 1952, entitled, "Killer Craig, a Candid Pen-Picture by Harry Procter," and under what regulation Mr. Procter was granted admission to Brixton Prison to interview a person under remand on a capital charge.

Sir D. Maxwell Fyfe

Yes. I am informed that while Craig was in Brixton prison awaiting trial, he was visited by a Mr. Proctor who came with Craig's parents and was described as a friend. The visit was conducted under normal supervision and nothing was said to suggest that Mr. Proctor was other than a friend.
