HC Deb 04 February 1953 vol 510 c206W
66. Commander Donaldson

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General how many telephone applications are outstanding in the counties of Roxburgh and Selkirk; and what is the present rate of new installations.

Mr. Gammans

Eighty-six in Roxburgh and 88 in Selkirk at 31st December, 1952; 167 new telephones were provided in the two counties during 1952. It is hoped to continue this rate of installation, but as new applications continue to be received it will be some time before the waiting list can be cleared.
