§ Mr. Wyattasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware that uncertainty as to his intentions with regard to Purchase Tax on motor cars has led to large stocks of motor cars being built up at both factories and retailers' establishments during the last month; and whether he will make a statement stating definitely whether the rate of Purchase Tax payable on motor cars will be altered either before the Budget or at the time when he presents his Budget.
