§ Mr. Gammans599 applications were outstanding at 31st December, 1952. Service is provided in about two months for priority applicants where exchange equipment and line plant are available. Other applications are, unfortunately, held up because of shortage of plant, but good progress is being made with the installation of additional equipment at the exchange. New cables are also being provided.
