§ Sir G. Hutchinsonasked the Minister of Agriculture what steps he is taking to reduce the deficit on the capital account of the county agricultural executive committees.
§ Sir T. DugdaleThe scope and efficiency of the trading operations of county agricultural executive committees are kept under continuous review. The Land Drainage and Water Supply Service already operates without loss, and the Pool Labour Service is being discontinued after 31st March, 1953. The net deficit on trading operations generally is being reduced substantially each year—the figure of £1.13 million in 1951–52 compares with £3.85 million in 1950–51 and £8.71 million in 1949–50.
