HC Deb 03 February 1953 vol 510 c187W
63. Brigadier Medlicott

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he has considered the representations made to him on behalf of the National Union of Manufacturers concerning the serious effect of Death Duties on the control. ownership and management of small companies; and if he will provide some amelioration of the burden of Death Duties as it affects these concerns.

Mr. R. A. Butler

I am considering these and other representations which have been made to me on the same subject, but I regret that I cannot anticipate the Budget statement.
