§ 10 and 12. Dr. Strossasked the Minister of National Insurance (1) whether he has noted that the totally disabled from pneumoconiosis receive a higher rate of weekly payment under the Industrial Injuries Act than do similar cases assessed before July, 1948; and whether he has considered what action is needed to improve the rate for the second group;
(2) whether he has completed his discussions with the Trades Union Congress on the subject of increasing the 166W maximum payment to those in receipt of Workmen's Compensation Benefit; and whether he will now make a statement of his proposals.
§ Mr. TurtonDiscussions with the T.U.C. which have of course included the position of people drawing Workmen's Compensation for pneumoconiosis and other industrial diseases—have made substantial progress and my right hon. Friend hopes soon to make a statement on them.
