asked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware of the series of accidents which have recently taken place on Cowbridge Road, Cardiff; and what steps he proposes to take to make this road safer for pedestrians.

Mr. Braithwaite

I know that this road has had a bad accident record recently. The Cardiff City Council are the highway authority and any proposals from that quarter will be carefully considered.

asked the Minister of Transport what representations he has now received concerning zebra crossings in Cathedral Road, Cardiff; and what action he is taking.

My right hon. Friend has received a letter from the secretary of the Pontcanna Branch Old Age Pensioners who was informed that the matter was one for consideration in the first instance by the responsible local authority.
