asked the Minister of National Insurance to what extent, in making a grant to an applicant, the Assistance Board includes in it an amount to cover any instalment or hire charge due by the applicant.

Mr. Turton

The Board inform me that it is not their practice to provide for these charges by way of assistance save in very exceptional circumstances.
