HC Deb 17 December 1953 vol 522 c107W
Mr. Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will inquire into the circumstances whereby seven injured miners from Glencraig Colliery, Fife, on the night of Sunday 6th December, were taken 20 miles by ambulance to the Bridge of Earn Hospital instead of to the Dunfermline and West Fife Hospital nine miles away.

Mr. J. Stuart

The general practitioner who was called to attend the men at the colliery decided that the wider range of facilities available at Bridge of Earn for the treatment of injuries more than compensated for the extra 15 minutes journey.
