§ Mr. GammansAs my hon. and gallant Friend will be aware, no compensation is payable in respect of unregistered letters and packets, so that detailed particulars are not available. Out of approximately 8,700 million of these items posted annually, about 55,000 claims are 61W received in respect of letters and packets with contents valued at 5s. or more which are said to be missing.
