§ 75. Mr. Gibsonasked the Assistant Postmaster-General, in view of the fact that there are 656 applications for telephones outstanding at the Tulse Hill exchange, and that 275 of these have been waiting over 18 months, what action is being taken to increase the capacity of this exchange.
§ Mr. GammansIn the past year the number of applicants who have been waiting for 18 months or more has been reduced from 406 to 275. It is shortage of local cables rather than of exchange equipment which is preventing more rapid progress in this exchange area, but some new cables will be provided next year.
