HC Deb 16 December 1953 vol 522 c49W
1. Major Beamish

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies why the Administrator of Dominica has, against the advice of his engineers, and although the legislative council has three times given it priority, decided to defer the completion of the transinsular road, for which funds have already been allocated from Colonial Development and Welfare Funds under Scheme D1776, in favour of a new track through unsurveyed and unmapped country to an unspecified point on the eastern coast.

Mr. Lyttelton
