133. Mr. Peter Freeman

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will take steps to reduce the tax on petrol and fuel oil now amounting to over 260 per cent., in view of the fact that it is one of the main causes of the rising cost of living and discriminates unfairly against the poorer working section of the community as a result of the large proportion used for public service vehicles.
