HC Deb 16 December 1953 vol 522 c57W
79 and 80. Mr. Janner

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General (1) if he has now completed his further investigations with regard to the Braunstone Frith Estate, Leicester; and if he will make a statement;

(2) in view of the fact that most of the pavements are now laid in front of most of the houses on the Braunstone Frith Estate, Leicester, when work will commence on the installation of telephone kiosks on the estate.

Mr. Gammans

Two kiosks are planned for this estate. A site has just been agreed for one of them and I hope work on it will be begun very quickly. The other, in New Parks Boulevard, will follow as soon as possible.

I am sorry that my reply of 11th November to the hon. Member has proved on further inquiry to be incorrect, and I now find that over 200 houses have been completed. The mistake was due to a misunderstanding of the boundary between Braunstone Frith and an adjoining estate.
