HC Deb 16 December 1953 vol 522 c68W
102. Mr. Dodds

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation if he will make a statement on the result of the traffic check which has been taken to assess the current needs for the completion of the Dartford-Purfleet tunnel.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

The figures submitted to me by the highway authorities concerned indicate that had the tunnel existed on the day of the census some 6,400 vehicles a day might have used it. These figures are being further checked and examined.
