HC Deb 16 December 1953 vol 522 c61W
96. Mr. Braine

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General what arrangements are being made to provide additional Post Office facilities in the new town of Basildon.

Mr. Gammans

The extension of postal facilities in Basildon is keeping pace with the development of the new town and the plans for the future are well forward. On the telephone side an extension of one exchange is nearly ready and I hope that extensions of two other exchanges will be completed in 1954 and 1955. Additional cables are also being provided.

If my hon. Friend has any particular point in mind and will let me have details I shall be happy to look into it.
