De la Bèreasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether Her Majesty's Government are now in a position to make a statement regarding some modification or amendment of their capital investment programme, with special reference to the effect of the programme on the rebuilding of the City of London.
§ Mr. R. A. ButlerIt is the practice of the Government to undertake a review of investment at about this period of each year and I am not able to anticipate the outcome of the current review. As regards the rebuilding of the City of London, our decision, in principle, to issue further licences was announced recently, as my hon. Friend is aware. I understand that my right hon. Friend the Minister of Works is already in touch with the City authorities.
