asked the Minister of Education the number of students in training colleges for teachers this year, in 1952 and in 1951, respectively.

The following are the numbers of students taking two and three-year courses of initial training in teacher training colleges in the years mentioned:

1952 22.796
1953 23,048

These figures do not include postgraduate students taking courses in University Departments of Education, etc.
