§ 58. Mr. Wadeasked the Minister of Health how many families were, at the latest date for which information is available, in temporary accommodation provided by local authorities under Section 21 (1) (b) of the National Assistance Act, 1948; and what were the total number of adults and the total number of children in such temporary accommodation.
§ Miss Hornsby-SmithOn 1st January, 1953, there were 1,977 adults, of whom 1,528 were women; and 3,325 children under 16 in accommodation provided by local authorities in England and Wales under Section 21 (1) (b) of the National Assistance Act. All children were accompanied by one or both parents. Information is not available of the number of families.
§ 59 and 60. Mr. Wadeasked the Minister of Health (1) how many families, which were in temporary accommodation provided by local authorities under Section 21 (1) (b) of the National Assistance Act, 1948, during the period of 12 months ending on the latest date for which such information is available, have been rehoused by a local authority; and how many such families have been accepted by local authorities for re-housing;
(2) how many families, which were in temporary accommodation provided by local authorities under Section 21 (1) (b) of the National Assistance Act, 1948, have, during the period of 12 months ending on the latest date for which information is available, been evicted from such temporary accommodation; and 263W how many children have as a result been admitted to children's homes under Section 1 of the Children Act, 1948.
