§ 104. Mr. Beswickasked the Minister of Education if she is aware that there is no non-denominational infants school in Cowley; that the church school is un able to accept the infants awaiting entry from this greatly developed area because of lack of accommodation; that the local church hall which is the only possible temporary accommodation is not to be made available; and what special steps she will authorise to enable these infants to receive education.
§ Miss HorsbrughThe answer to the first and third parts of the Question is Yes. I am informed that any children who cannot be accommodated next term in the voluntary school will be admitted to the Yiewsley County Primary School.
§ 105. Mr. Beswickasked the Minister of Education what plans have been submitted to her for a new infants school at Cowley; when these plans were first submitted; and what decision she made about them.
§ Miss HorsbrughA proposal to build the first instalment of a new primary school at Cowley is part of the building programme I have approved for the Middlesex local education authority for 1953–54. Plans for it have not yet been submitted for my approval, though sketch plans have been discussed informally with officers of the local education authority. I understand that final plans are to be submitted shortly.
