§ 133. Mr. Parkerasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation what steps have been taken to improve the standard of lighting on Eastern Avenue, especially at the intersection with Whalebone Lane.
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydMy Department has contributed to the cost of a lighting scheme on Eastern Avenue in Wanstead and Woodford and will contribute to another scheme shortly to be installed in Ilford. It has not yet been possible, from the funds available tome, to contribute to a scheme submitted by the Dagenham Borough Council which would include the Whalebone Lane junction, but I will carefully consider the possibility of doing so next year.
