Hallasked the President of the Board of Trade, in order to relieve anxiety prevailing among the workpeople, if he will make a statement regarding the changes contemplated at the Durham China Factory, Team Valley Trading Estates; and how far the continued employment of the trained employees is assured.
§ Mr. P. ThorneycroftI understand that the Receiver who was appointed in October at the request of the Directors of the Company is endeavouring to dispose of the business as a going concern which would provide continued employment. As the hon. Member will realise, this is not a matter in which I could interfere, but weare of course very ready to assist the Receiver whenever possible.
