§ Mr. Goochasked the Minister of Agriculture the present stage of restoration of the damaged sea defences along the Norfolk coast.
§ Sir T. DugdaleThe work of bringing back to their pre-flood strength the damaged sea defences both in Norfolk and elsewhere along the East Coast, was virtually completed some weeks ago, and I expect that finishing touches will be given to the work by the end of this month. Substantial progress has also been made with improvement works designed to give a higher margin of safety at the more important points. A recent illustrated article in the Press gives a wrong impression and the Norfolk defences are now as strong as, and in many cases stronger than they were before last winter's floods.
