§ Mr. Bossomasked the Minister of Agriculture what further steps he is taking, or recommending, to make the control of rabbits more effective.
§ Sir T. DugdaleWe are pressing on with the organisation of voluntary schemes for clearing rabbits from infested areas. This depends on the initiative of the county agricultural executive committees and the ready co-operation112W of the farmers and landowners in the areas concerned. Success will depend largely on the enthusiasm with which these schemes are tackled by the local people. I am in consultation with the National Farmers' Union, the Country Landowners' Association and other interests and Departments concerned about both area clearance schemes and any other possible measures which may help in securing more effective control of rabbits.
