§ 72. Mr. Holtasked the Minister of Food how many eggs he has been obliged to purchase from farmers in fulfilment of his obligations under the Agriculture Act, 1947, since eggs were freed; and what is the average price he has paid.
Dr. HillApproximately 77 million eggs. The greater part was bought from packers when the average minimum price to producers was 3s. 9d. a dozen. The price paid is expected to average about 3s. l1d. a dozen packed and graded.
