asked the Minister of Health what evidence he has received from interested bodies that some people are not able to afford spectacles since the charges were introduced; and what classes of the community are especially affected.

While certain bodies have represented that some people may be deterred by the charges from obtaining glasses or be unwilling to apply to the National Assistance Board for help, no evidence to this effect has come to my right hon. Friend's notice.
