Mr. H. Wilsonasked the Minister of Education if she is aware that workers in the school meals service in the Huyton area are being dismissed because of a reduction of 18 per cent. in the number of school meals now being taken; and what action she proposes to take in the matter.
§ Miss HorsbrughI understand that there has been some reorganisation of the school meals service in the Huyton area, and that this, together with a reduction in the number of pupils taking school dinner, has resulted in some part-time dining room assistants becoming redundant. I am not proposing to take any special action in the matter.
