HC Deb 21 April 1953 vol 514 c48W
Lieut.-Colonel Bromley-Davenport

asked the Minister of Food whether, in view of the recent success of his Department in finding for this country additional sources of non-dollar sugar, he will consider the desirability of allowing private buyers in this country and in Empire countries to use their own initiative in tracing similar sources with a view to reducing our dependence on dollar sugar and hastening the advent of unrationed sugar supplies in this country.

Major Lloyd George

I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the reply I gave to my hon. Friend the Member for Aberdeenshire. East (Mr. Boothby) on 16th April.
