HC Deb 21 April 1953 vol 514 cc45-6W
58. Air Commodore Harvey

asked the Minister of Works if he is aware that construction on public services and housing in Macclesfield are being brought to a standstill owing to shortage of cement; and what steps he is taking to bring in additional supplies.

Mr. Eccles

I am aware that some work in Macclesfield has slowed down because even the record deliveries of cement to the North-West Region could not keep pace with the demand. Additional supplies will shortly be available for this area.
