HC Deb 16 April 1953 vol 514 c21W
Major Markham

asked the Prime Minister whether in view of the present difficulties in the way of Members of Parliament obtaining up-to-date information about the nationalised industries of this country, he will cause inquiries to be made as to whether meetings can be arranged in Parliament on a non-party basis at which those in control of nationalised undertakings could explain the present state of those industries, and answer questions.

The Prime Minister

I should assume that this is one of the matters to which the Select Committee on Nationalised Industries would direct its attention and perhaps my hon. and gallant Friend and I may both await their recommendations.
