§ Mr. P. ThorneycroftYes. The main reasons were the imposition of import restrictions abroad, and some reduction in demand for consumer goods in many overseas markets. The most notable decline was in exports to Australia, which fell from £329,000 in September, 1951, to £34,000 in September, 1952.
