§ 124. Mr. Shinwellasked the Secretary of State for War the number of men and women who have enrolled in the Home Guard; and whether he intends to proceed with the organisation of this branch of the service.
§ Mr. HeadUp to 15th September enrolments totalled 20,669, all men. In addition, 18,813, of whom 134 were women, had been registered for enrolment in an emergency. I certainly intend to press on with the formation of this force, but I shall shortly be announcing certain changes in the detailed organisation.
