§ 81. Mr. Ellis Smithasked the Minister of Transport the total cost of road works since 1945 where Regulations 56A of the Defence (General) Regulations, 1939, have been applied; and the total cost of other road work.
Mr. BraithwaiteRecords have not been collated for road works authorised before 1949–50 under Defence Regulation 56A. Figures of the total cost of road works are not yet available subsequent to 1950–51. The figures asked for are therefore only available for the years 1949–50 and 1950–51.
For those years the expenditure authorised for road works under the Defence Regulation was £6 million, and the total expenditure on all road works, including those authorised by Defence Regulation, was £160 million.
