§ Miss HorsbrughIn January last there were 39,026 classes with more than 40 pupils, 1,240 with more than 50 pupils and 19 with more than 60 pupils on the 13W register. Of the classes with over 60 pupils eight were in secondary grammar or technical schools and were assembled together only for registration purposes; two others were taught by more than one teacher, and the remainder have now been reduced in size through the provision of additional accommodation or an extra teacher.
