Miss Wardasked the Minister of Health if he will give an assurance that in allotting next year's expenditure for the hospital service, he will allocate an increased amount for capital expenditure by the Newcastle regional hospital board to ensure that this region has the same basis for capital outlay as other regions.
§ Mr. Iain MacleodThe basis of capital allocations for the current financial year was the same for all regional hospital boards. In the allocations for 1953–54, which have already been made, some boards, including Newcastle, received amounts which were weighted to take account of their special needs.
