77. Mr. Sorensen

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies to what extent further modification of the Sierra Leone constitution is now being considered.

Mr. Lyttelton

The allocation of portfolios to Unofficial Members of the Executive Council is now being discussed and, in accordance with the assurance given by my predecessor in June, 1950, will in due course be considered by the Legislative Council.

I cannot yet say what amendment, if any, of the constitutional instruments would be involved.
