§ 103. Mr. Reevesasked the Assistant Postmaster-General what applications have been made for commercial television licences; by whom; when a decision is likely to be made; and on what conditions.
§ Mr. GammansTwenty-four inquiries have been received about licences to operate commercial television stations and twenty-one applications from other persons for time for sponsored television programmes. Without consent of the applicants it would be improper for me to disclose their identities. As hon. Members are aware, my noble Friend will grant licences on the advice of the controlling body described in Command 8550, but it is much too early to say when and on what conditions licences will be granted.
