§ Mr. HeadThe activities on which the money is spent are set out in some detail in the explanatory notes to Army Estimates 1952–53, pages 111 to 115. The greater part of the increase is for movement of stores by sea and arises both from the movement of increased tonnage and from higher rates. Rail and hired road transport rates and dock charges have all increased since the previous year.
