Expenditure by local education authorities on these services does not require my specific approval, and I cannot therefore give detailed information of their expenditure under these heads. Offers of direct grant from my Department for welfare projects have been as follows:

Youth Service From 1st January, 1952, to 31st October, 1952, the number of new offers of grant made under the Social and Physical Training Grant Regulations to local associations engaged in the youth service was 32. From 1st January, to 31st December, 1951, the number was 92.
