This loan scheme is significant not only because the Government are experimenting in a new field by offering financial help to encourage fuel efficiency in industry, but also because it is in keeping with the general need for fuel saving at home to free more coal for export. An explanatory leaflet has been prepared and copies are being placed in the Library for the information of hon. Members. A supplementary estimate will be presented in due course.
