§ 83. Mr. Remnantasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government why there was even a small increase in the occupation of Service camp huts in England and Wales during the month of March; and whether he will circularise local authorities regarding the desirability of evacuating such dwellings.
§ Mr. MarplesThis small increase was mainly due to the completion of conversion schemes which had been previously authorised. Large-scale evacuation of these dwellings is not yet practicable, but local authorities have been advised that huts in a bad condition should be taken out of use as soon as possible and the occupants rehoused.
